Miss Lamia Zafrani

Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Miss Lamia Zafrani is a highly experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 10 years of clinical expertise. A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), she provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to women at all stages of life. Her areas of interest span early pregnancy, menstrual disorders, menopause, pelvic floor health, and a wide range of gynaecological conditions.

In addition to her broad clinical practice, Miss Zafrani is a recognised expert in female athlete health, with specialist training in pregnancy and postpartum athleticism. She supports both recreational and elite athletes in managing their reproductive health while preserving performance and long-term well-being. Her work includes safe training in pregnancy, structured return-to-sport protocols, and the management of complex gynaecological issues in physically active women.

She is the founder of a specialist consultancy that works with sports organisations to deliver performance-aligned obstetric and gynaecological support, including RED-S risk management, preconception optimisation, and postpartum recovery strategy. She also serves as a lecturer and expert contributor in pregnancy and postpartum athleticism coaching, helping to shape best practices in this emerging field.

Miss Zafrani graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School and completed a Master of Research (MRes) in Maternal-Fetal Health. She underwent specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in North West England and Kent, Surrey, and Sussex, followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Urogynaecology at Frimley Park Foundation Trust. Her advanced education includes focused modules in Early Pregnancy, Acute Gynaecology, and High-Risk Obstetrics, as well as specialist training in pregnancy and postpartum care for athletes.

Miss Zafrani currently serves as a Consultant at Wexham Park Hospital, Frimley Park Foundation Trust, and is committed to improving outcomes for women through integrated clinical care, education, and innovation in reproductive and performance health.
